Why should men have a daily beauty routine?

Men's skin care

Why? What? I don’t even shave… why should I follow a beauty routine?

You are 100% right to ask those questions. After all, a daily shower, a deodorant, and maybe your perfume is enough? Think again! In terms of absorption, your skin is no different than a women’s. We all know that the air surrounding us is full of pollution and undesirable particles. Our skin, being our body’s largest organ, absorbs a lot of what’s in the environment.   why should men have a daily beauty routine   First, it’s important that everyone, including men, identify and understand their skin type:
  • Sensitive skin may sting or burn after product use
  • Normal skin is clear and not sensitive
  • Dry skin is flaky, itchy or rough
  • Oily skin is shiny and greasy
  • Combination skin is dry in some areas and oily in others
You might think well I rinse my face every morning and night isn’t that okay? In theory that sounds good, but unfortunately, our skin pores are full of sebum (grease), and the only thing the water does, is slide down your skin. The “refreshing” effect of water doesn’t necessarily mean that you have a clean face. While we could go on and elaborate on a full beauty routine, let’s just start with step 1: cleansing. It will take you less than a minute every day, and will improve the texture and health of your skin. Also, please, don’t ever use that soap bar on your face again; it has a drying effect and allows your skin to absorb even more gunk! The right cleanser, a gentle one, won’t make your skin dry or appear wrinkly. It will, however, remove any accumulated residue, dirt and excess oils from your skin. Think of it as the proper way to prep your skin for the next treatment products, if you ever want to get into the full daily routine.

  1. Figure out what is your skin type
  2. Choose a product and a brand that offers a face cleanser according to your skin type (ideally, a natural one)
  3. Use your cleanser every day (twice if you can; morning and night); and especially after exercise!
You don’t know where to start and want to be able to casually perform that step without anyone noticing? Simple, we recommend choosing a cleansing foam that can be used while you shower.

Make sure you avoid brand that offer products with harsh chemicals. Here’s a list of ingredients to avoid:
  • Silicones
  • Parabens
  • SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) – Present in A LOT of products; it’s a skin and eye irritant
  • Synthetic essential oils
  • Chemical fragrance
  • Drying alcohol

Where to start

We obviously have a product to recommend, as we believe ours are extremely good and efficient (100% natural and gentle). Whether you decide to purchase from us or not, we recommend putting “purchase a facial cleanser” on top of your priority list. If you’re still reading, THANK YOU!
